Who Is Educated

First, those who manage well the circumstances which they encounter day by day; and those who can judge situations appropriately as they arise and rarely miss the suitable course of action.

Next, those who are honorable in their dealings with all men, bearing easily what is unpleasant or offensive in others, and being as reasonable with their associates as is humanly possible.

Furthermore, those who hold their pleasures always under control and are not unduly overcome by their misfortunes, bearing up under them bravely and in a manner worthy of our common nature.

Most important of all, those who are not spoiled by their successes, who do not desert their true selves, but hold their ground steadfastly as wise and sober-minded men, rejoicing no more in good things that have come to them through chance than in those which through their own nature and intelligence are theirs since birth.

Those who have a character which is in accord, not with one of these things, but with all of them these are educated – possessed of all the virtues.

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
It is our light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you NOT to be?
You are a child of God
Your playing small does not serve the world
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you

We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us
It is not just in some of us
It is in everyone
As we let our own Light shine
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same
As we are liberated from our own fear
Our presence automatically liberates others…

If You Think...

If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but think you can’t
It’s almost a cinch you won’t

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellows will
It’s all in the state of mind

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You’ve got to think high to rise
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger and faster man
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can…!
